Wellsboro Parks

The Wellsboro Department of Parks and Recreation operates and maintains 6 area parks encompassing 497 acres of parkland.

All parks open at sunrise and close at sunset with the exception of Packer Park which is open until 11:00 p.m. for lighted tennis & basketball play.

parkspoolPacker Pool & Park - Lighted tennis courts, basketball court, picnic pavilion, playground, Community Center, volleyball courts, fitness court, Olympic Outdoor Swimming Pool, passive areas. Located on Queen Street, one block from the Wellsboro Diner. Come beat the heat at Packer Pool. Daily rates available as well as individual and family memberships. Senior Citizens are always admitted free!

park_treeWoodland Park - Picnic pavilions, walking trails, barbecue pit, playground, basketball court, shuffleboard courts, passive areas. Take Bryden Street off of east avenue. Enjoy the tranquility of a wooded setting. Quiet lunches, a walk with nature, or just sit back and soak in the sounds. A quiet oasis in the hustle & bustle of life.

lake_at_sunsetNessmuk Lake - Fishing, boating (electric motors only), picnic pavilion, group barbecue pit, archery range. Located on Rt. 287 on the border of the Borough of Wellsboro and Delmar Township line. A cooperative effort between the Borough of Wellsboro, Soil Conservation Service, and the Pennsylvania Fish Commission. Lake is governed by Pennsylvania Fish Commission rules and regulations. Warning to residents - canoes, kayaks, inflatables etc. must be registered if placed on Nessmuk Lake.

boy_fishingHamilton Lake - Fishing, boating (elec. only). Located on Round Top Road which can be accessed off of Route 6. The fishing was hot on the opening day of trout season as the banks were literally shoulder to shoulder with anglers of all ages.

baseball_older_playerUpper Meade Street Recreational Area - Wellsboro Area Softball Association complex, Senior Little League ball field, Police Training Pistol Range. Located on Meade Street in Wellsboro.

Charleston Street "Little League Complex" - A battery of Little League baseball & softball fields, restrooms, concession stand. Located on Charleston Street in Wellsboro.

wbnWynken, Blynken & Nod "On The Green" - Famous fountain in a picturesque, tranquil setting. The most photographed site in Wellsboro. Located in the center of Wellsboro across from the Tioga County Courthouse.
